Last week I spent a few days in London town. And you know what this means? REVIEWS!
Upon arriving at Paddington Station, my OH & I headed towards Brixton. My OH, who is amazing at finding really cool places to eat, had read about Brixton Market. With huge thanks to Google maps, we finally found it. And we weren’t disappointed. After a mooch about, we decided on lunch at Honest Burgers and I’m so glad that we did, as we were not disappointed. I had a fritter burger, which is califlower, sweetcorn, shallots & spices. It was amazing! Veggie burgers can be a bit hit and miss, but this one was bang on. All the burgers come with house chips & rosemary salt and this made my lunch very reasonable at £6.50. Very impressive. My OH ordered the special, which was a beef burger that came with chorizo, jalapenos and all kinds of delicious stuff. My OH said that it was the best burger he’d ever had. The whole place was buzzing & had a really cool vibe. Both my OH & I ordered the homemade lemonade to drink with our lunch, which was served in glass jars which came with stripey paper straws. Fantastic! You
know how sometimes lemondade can be either really sweet or really sour or completely tasteless? This was nothing like that. It was the perfect blend of deliciousness! And they were served in these super cute jar glasses & my picture got a lot of love on my Instagram feed! If you’re ever in Brixton, or even London, you need to go and have lunch here. It is amazing!
After lunch, we needed to stretch our legs, so we wandered about the market for a while. There are lots of really cool places to visit & I enjoyed looking at all the homemade bits & pieces. By then, we needed a sit down so headed for Federation Coffee. My OH is quite the coffee expert so I had an Americano & he had a flat white. Both were delicious. I always have my coffee black, and this can sometimes mean that the coffee is bitter or really strong. Not this Americano. It was perfect. And, as they were selling brownies, it would’ve been rude not to have one! It was the most delicious chocolatey thing I’ve ever eaten in my life. So much so I couldn’t finish it. For the rest of the day, I was in a chocolate coma. What more can a girl ask for?!
Brixton is well worth a visit. There are so many other really good places to eat & visit. I can’t wait for an excuse to go back and try more!
