On the final evening of our glamping holiday, we went out for dinner and had an awful, awful meal. It was so awful that we didn’t want to just go back to our hut. We couldn’t let the awful dinner be the final thing we did on our holiday. So we went for a drive and found ourselves in Christchurch. We headed for the marina, parked up and started walking. We didn’t really know where we were heading but before long we stumbled across the Priory Church and the castle ruins.

Not far from Christchurch is the beautiful Hengistbury Head. Phil had been before, years ago, but I never had. We parked up in the car park and headed towards the beach. It was breathtaking. As the sun was setting, we didn’t have time to explore the beach, as we wanted to climb to the top and explore the different wildlife areas. Hengistbury has such an amazing history and varied wildlife. Plus the view from the top is breathtaking and well worth a visit. I wish we’d had more time to explore, but the sun was setting and we had to get back to the car park. I’d love to go again and really explore the whole place.

It was a perfect way to end our glamping holiday and definitely improved our evening after our dreadful meal. Christchurch is such a beautiful area and I can’t wait to go back to explore further. Maybe a summer holiday day trip is in order!
