After a little bit of a hiatus, I’m back on the craft trail of making the kits that come with Mollie Makes. This week I chose the coin purse kit that came with issue number 6. It was really easy to do, which I’m relieved about as I have to go & start making dinner once I’ve made some new cards!
If you have 20 minutes, you could make this kit. I’m going to use mine to hold my headphones in my bag. They do that annoying thing of getting everywhere! It’s pretty cute, don’t ya think?!
Last Friday I went to Fallowfields Hotel for a spot of knitting and a cream tea. I met up with Gail aka @a2knitting and Nikki from @nixbits66. We’d arranged it via Twitter & had the awkward ‘are you the ones?’ when we met up! But that didn’t last long at all. Before long we were gossipping nine to the dozen.
We ordered the cream tea & we weren’t disappointed! We had 2 scones each – one fruit & one plain, with plenty of cream and jam to be had. But it wasn’t all about the cream tea. We all brought something that we were knitting & had a good old chinwag while we got busy with our yarn.
I think we’ll definitely meet up again. It was so nice to meet up with fellow minded knitters. I love a good knitting circle & would encourage anyone to join in with their local one. You meet different people & can talk about so many different things. You might even get to eat some lovely cake!
This week Folksy Finds have a competition based on Textile Love. You simply have to pick 18 images from Folksy that show textiles that you love. In other words, spend some time looking at the pretty handmade things on Folksy and collect the images together!
I picked mine & pinned them onto my Textile Love Pinterest board. There are so many lovely handmade things out there. Below is a snapshot of what I picked. What would you pick?
A few weeks ago, the lovely Kate from Oxford Bake Off tweeted me to ask if I would be interested in taking A Crafty Chai along & having a stall at the event. I ummed & ahhed about it for a while, wondering if I would ever be able to make enough stock but thought that I’d give it a go!
This will be my first ever craft stall and I am so excited and nervous at the same time. I have so many things to think about: displays, bags, a float, will I have enough stock, how much do I need, what if no one buys anything, will I spend all my profit on the cakes that are for sale at the event?…it goes on! But am I so excited and chuffed about being asked.
I am going to be crafting so much over the next few weeks. I’m going to be selling my jewellery, cosies & brooches and maybe headbands as well as cards, including some of the Blom flower cards that I made recently.
Below is a list of the stalls that will be in Oxford Town Hall on 24th March. Look, there’s me! So proud! There’ll be cakes a plenty, lovely local tea company Jeeves & Jericho (my latest tea obsession) and vintage china from The Jolly Vintage Tea Party in the pop-up tea room.
If you are free & around Oxford on the 24th March, pop along and support some of these excellent causes: Oxfam IWD, Coppa Feel, Cecily’s Fund and Oxford Rape Crisis.
