Thistles

While I appreciate the following pictures aren’t particularly crafty, I am drinking a chai while I’m doing this so I’m allowing this post on my blog. It can be quite tricky to put enough posts on here to keep people interested during the week so when I actually had a brainwave about something I could post earlier on, I was pretty chuffed with myself. How have I found the time I hear you ask? I ditched going to the gym. Don’t worry, I’ll go tomorrow to make up for it, but for now, I’m enjoying these pictures & my generous helping of my favourite chai, Drink Me Chai.

As you know from one of my previous posts, I love flowers, especially when the weather is less than lovely. The weather has been very nice this week, but that didn’t stop myself & my OH purchasing these beautiful irises on the weekend from a local florist called The Honey Pot.

Irises

They were closed when we bought them & I don’t think I’ve ever bought irises before. They are opening up beautifully & they really are lovely to see first thing in the morning.

Over the weekend, my OH & I went for a walk around Dorchester. As it’s still early in Spring terms it seems, there wasn’t much to take pictures of. As our walk was coming to an end, we spotted these little things.

Thistles

I remember my Mum having some of these sprayed gold at Christmas once when I was a kid. Great crafty idea Mum. They are wicked & are great to see in the absence of flowers.

Happy Easter Card

This week I’ve been busy with flowers. The garden is mainly brown, with very little life poking through the mud yet. So I needed to bring some colour into the house.

My first idea was to get organised & make an Easter card for my Granny, who is 92. I don’t send many Happy Easter Card Easter cards but I know she’ll love it & really appreciate my efforts. She doesn’t get around much, so it doesn’t take a lot to brighten her day. I hope this helps. I bought a little kit from Hobbycraft, along with some needlecraft cards. It only took a few hours and it came with everything you could possibly need. I even had some left over thread, which I’m sure will come in handy at some point. The most difficult bit was the outline & the writing, as it wasn’t always clear where you had to sew but I think it looks okay! I am super chuffed that the card fits pretty well, as it was a last minute purchase & it’s all stuck together with a bit of craft glue that I bought in town the other week. Nice. I think Granny will be pretty impressed with my crafty skills!

Tulips in February With it being a pretty gloomy February weekend, I couldn’t resist these gorgeous tulips from Waitrose this morning. Bright & sunny when there is no sun, they made me feel warm inside. (ahhhhhhh!) I love flowers. They really brighten my mood & my day no matter what. They are even more important to me at the moment, as I have now realised our garden needs so much work doing to it that we won’t be having anything growing in it for a while. With that in mind, there’ll be plenty of flowers in the house!
