This week I bring you a tutorial for sewing little bags. It’s not rocket science, but they sure are pretty!

Lavender Bag

I made six bags from different pieces of left over fabric, some vintage, some Cath Kidston. I mainly picked up the ribbon from different places. They were all different sizes, which is fine as they aren’t for anything specific.

Firstly, I ironed the fabric. I have learnt that this helps no end when sewing things. I also ironed the hem before I put it through the machine. This helps to make sure that the hem is even before pinning.

I sewed three sides to make the edges neat, then folded the top over to create a section for the ribbon to go through. Be careful not to sew the ribbon into this bit! Then I simply stitched the side and the bottom. It couldn’t be easier & they only take about 5 minutes to make

This is a great way to use up any spare fabric & fabric and they can be used for so many things. Have a go & let me know how you get on!
