Tencel for People Tree Crowdfunder

I’ve been a fan of People Tree for over ten years. I believe that we need to shop ethically and consciously so that every part of the supply chain is treated fairly. No matter what we do, we all consume and that’s not going to change any time soon. Therefore, I think it’s important that we consume as consciously as possible. I always try to make sure I buy clothes that are fairtrade and organic cotton. This is one of the reasons I like shopping at People Tree so much because they are super concsious and always trying to be more environmentally friendly. This is why they launched their Tencel for People Tree Crowdfunder.

People Tree Tencel crowdfunderPeople Tree Tencel crowdfunderTencel is made from wood pulp, so is completely sustainable. The process of turning wood pulp into fabric is also environmentally friendly, as any solvent used within the process is almost 100% recycled. As someone who is increasingly environmentally aware of the damage humans have, even without realising it, this is the perfect fabric for the environmentally conscious shopper.

When I heard about the crowdfunder, I thought it was a great opportunity to help develop the use of Tencel. People Tree have developed a small capsule collection using Tencel and as response to this has been good, they want to expand the collection. I’ve donated as I think this is a really worthwhile campaign to get behind. I think we need to start using more environmentally friendly fabrics so that we reduce our impact on the planet wherever we can. Why not head over to the crowdfunder page now and take a look? Be quick though, as there’s only a few days left to donate.

Tuesday Treat – Matt & Nat

I have been an admirer of Matt & Nat for some time, though I’ve never treated myself to any of their lovely bags. No idea why, but since becoming vegan, I felt hypocritical using my leather purse and became hyper aware of it and the leather bits and pieces on my bag, especially when I’m in vegan shops or talking about veganism to people. I’ve had my eye on their range of bags for a while, but as I’m trying to be responsible and on a budget, I knew I couldn’t afford anything. Then they announced their sale so thought I’d have a look. Lo and behold, the bag I wanted and the purse I wanted were in the sale. This kind of thing never happens to me! So I treated myself and bought them.

Matt & Nat Rehe bagThe bag is the Rehe bag in Midnight and the purse is Sublime in Cocoa. The sale prices were too good to ignore and I’m really pleased with my purchases. All of Matt & Nat bags are vegan and the linings inside their bags are made out of 100% recycled plastic bottles. Their ethical credentials are really impressive. The bag and purse look really smart, are definitely on trend and because they’re classic styles, they always will be. Not only that, they’re cruelty free and ethically responsible. What’s not to love?!

Tuesday Treat – People Tree Sale

Who’s looking forward to pay day on Friday? *eyes moth ridden purse* I have been on a self imposed shopping ban to try and curb my festive spending. I’m not going to lie, it’s been tough. So many awesome sales going on. If, like me, you’ve held off having a spendathon, I come baring good news. The lovely folks at People Tree have given me an exclusive sale code, for 10% off all sale items until 7th February. Here’s some of the lovely things you could splurge on.

I know, I know. I’ve posted this breton top before. But what can I say, I love these tops. I have two already and think I’m going to get myself one for the summer. I love this shirt too and think it would look great under a v neck jumper with a lush pair of jeans. I think this dress is amazing! The only place I would wear it is work, but why not hey?! I’m always on the look out for cute little bracelets and think this star one is adorable. For an extra 10% off these great sale items, the code you need it CCSALE10. Happy shopping!

Tuesday Treat – YAWstore

Social media can be a wonderful thing. You can use it as a way to raise awareness of great organisations doing big things to help change the world. Another wonderful things is, that as a consumer, you have the power to change things with what you buy. I’m always looking for new places to buy fairtrade, vegan clothing and just before Christmas, I came across YAWstore via Twitter. YAWstore sell clothes, gifts and accessories for the conscientious consumer. None of their products contain animal skin and they explain the ethical footprint of their products, so you, as a consumer, can make an informed choice. If only all shops were this transparent, eh?

Fox Tea Towel

YAWstore have a lovely collection of clothing and accessories for women, including a gorgeous Matt & Nat purse that I have my eye on. They also sell mens and children clothing, and a few gifts, including this adorable fox tea towel, which is made from organic cotton. Not only that, but if you want to get your craft on, you can cut out the tea towel and make an adorable fox toy, which is a great excuse for not doing the washing up!
