Tuesday Treat – New Mittens

Well, it certainly seems like the gorgeous heat wave is over. It’s turned much colder here in Oxfordshire, which is a shame. I’ve enjoyed being warm & not feeling cold. I’ve been cold since October last year so its made for a refreshing change! But now that I’m back wearing jumpers & thick socks, I’ve been thinking about my Winter Wardrobe and if anything needs replacing. One thing that the needed replacing were my favourite mittens – I’ve had them for 10 years, and they’re pretty much worn out. So when I saw that the very talented Hilary Grant was having a sample sale, I knew I needed to be on the look out for a bargain!

New winter knitsI wasn’t disappointed! I bought these gorgeous mittens for less than half price, great for my bank balance and my chilly hands! They’re just what I’ve been looking for. I prefer mittens to gloves – they feel a bit more festive! I got the hat too, mainly because I love wearing hats in Winter and I know it’ll get plenty of wear while I’m out walking Poppy!

One of the reasons it’s so great having a really hot summer is that when it’s done, you look forward to the next season. I’m definitely looking forward to it being cold enough to wear these, which for my freaky temperature, will probably be next week!

My First Folksy Sales!

I spent yesterday afternoon trying to design my first web page. I was very frustrated by it but finally managed to get my text into columns. I ran up the stairs to show off my success to my OH. 'Guess what?' I said. 'You had your first folksy sale?' said my OH. 'No. I'd scream if that happened!'

Well, lo & behold about an hour later I got my first folksy sale. Someone bought one of my knitted brooches that went. It was bought by a lovely lady who was new to folksy, so we both had a first folksy experience! I did scream & run about & have been on cloud nine pretty much ever since!

So imagine my surprise when I sold the knitted headband this afternoon! I lovely lady who I follow on Twitter bought it. I can't believe it! It's such a nice feeling knowing that someone likes something that I've made! Feel free to pop over to have a look – I'm on a roll! Now I'd better go & get knitting! x
